What’s Your Excuse For Not Exercising?

Image of written excuses

Is this familiar to you? “I’m too tired”, “I’ve got no time”, “it’s too cold”, “it’s raining”, “I’m too embarrassed”, “I don’t have the right clothes”, “I’ve got too much work”,”people will be looking at me” etc.

If you think you haven’t got time, you could get up earlier or miss some of your evening t.v. “It’s too cold” – put a coat on. “It’s raining” – put a waterproof coat on, “I’m too tired” – you’ll feel better after and probably have a good nights sleep. “I’m too embarrassed” – don’t be because lots of other people walk and exercise. “I’ve got too much work”, you may have a lot of work but exercising has been found to help one think better apart from helping you to feel better. “People will be looking at me” they may be but they will also be looking at others and why should you be so lucky?

There are 1440 minutes in a day, you only need 30 minutes for a reasonable exercise workout – that’s 2.08% of your day so it’s not true you don’t have the time it’s how you choose to use it.

It may help you to make a note in your diary to exercise – a regular time is good as you are more likely to remember. You could also record your experiences in a notebook or do a blog.
